The all-new Nissan Sylphy was unveiled at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show, sporting a new look and featuring the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies to give drivers increased connectivity, comfort and confidence.

With a new and more fuel-efficient powertrain, a wider stance, a lower center of gravity, improved aerodynamics and a roomy, luxurious interior, the new Sylphy delivers even better performance and an enhanced driving experience. Seamless connectivity features and a full suite of active safety technologies provide support for drivers.

Also making their China debut at the Shanghai show are the IMs and IMQ electrified concept cars.

Nissan LEAF Owner Turns 100,000 Gas Free Commuting Miles



SEATTLE (Dec. 19, 2013) — Steve Marsh just watched his odometer hit 100,000 miles on his all-electric Nissan LEAF. He has had the car since May of 2011.

“I have saved over $9,000 driving my LEAF compared to my previous car that got 30 miles to the gallon. And I have not had to burn 3,000 gallons of gasoline,” said Marsh.

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee congratulated Marsh at a specially scheduled press conference on his accomplishment and made him Washingtonian of the Day. The Governor also announced his plans to expand the state’s electrical corridor to the east and west.

The Nissan IMs, unveiled at the 2019 North American International Auto Show, is a completely new type of car – an “elevated sports sedan” that takes advantage of the packaging, platform and powertrain technology developed through Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

Nissan designers tells us about the inspiration behind the concept and the key features on the model.

The IMs is a pure electric vehicle with autonomous drive capabilities and includes an indulgent “Premier Seat” in the rear center.

Nissan and DeNA introduces Easy Ride, a future robo-vehicle mobility service



Easy Ride is envisioned as a mobility service for anyone who wants to travel freely to their destination of choice in a robo-vehicle.

Nissan and DeNA will begin a field test of Easy Ride, the robo-vehicle mobility service being developed by both companies from March in Yokohama, Japan.

The field test will enable Nissan and DeNA to learn from the experience of operating the Easy Ride service trial with public participation, as both companies look toward future commercial endeavors.

Nissan and DeNA will also work to develop service designs for driverless environments, expanded service routes, vehicle distribution
logic, pick-up/drop-off processes and multilingual support. The companies aim to launch Easy Ride in a limited environment at first, and then introduce a full service in the early 2020s.

With customers able to discover new local destinations, the companies expect Easy Ride will also help energize cities and neighborhoods.

Nissan GT-R 50th anniversary edition debuts in New York



Making its debut at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, the 2020 Nissan GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition takes the nameplate to a level that was unimaginable when it was first introduced 50 years ago. To celebrate the half-century of the GT-R, engineers challenged themselves to find undiscovered performance potential while still making sure the car can be enjoyed by drivers at any level.

The special edition car will come in three heritage-era, two-tone exterior color combinations meant to represent the GT-R’s liveries from the Japan GP series – of which the original GT-R was born to dominate in.

An Idea Coming to Life: Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign

From concept to reality in little more than a year, Nissan and Italdesign have created a new prototype vehicle – Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign – in their first-ever collaboration to celebrate two golden anniversaries: 50 years of GT-R, in 2019, and 50 years of Italdesign, in 2018.

Head of Nissan’s Global Design Alfonso Albaisa, Italdesign CEO Jörg Astalosch and Nissan Design Europe Vice President Mamoru Aoki describe the unprecedented collaboration between their designers and engineers, to create what could become the blueprint for a limited run of hand-built production vehicles.

The Nissan GT-R50 by Italdesign is based on the latest GT-R NISMO, reinterpreted with a European-style sensibility combining Japanese performance and Italian craftsmanship.

While Italdesign developed, engineered and constructed the car in Turin, Italy, the distinctive, exterior and interior designs originated from Nissan’s design centers in London and San Diego.
