In this second episode of our three-part series, our host June Ambrose teams up with Ethiopian-American textile designer Hana Getachew, as they go on a quest for inspiration through Brooklyn.
Just like Ambrose, Getachew left a corporate job to start her own business. Today she is the head of Bolé Road Textile’s, her textile company that designs its products in Brooklyn and has them handwoven by artisans in Ethiopia.
Bold patterns, colorful traditional garments and a very special hidden secret in Gowanus are some of this episode’s inspirations. Tune in to discover how these creative women found their visual voice.
