Nissan Energy Share turns an EV into a mobile energy storage device



The batteries in an electric car can do more than just power the vehicle; they can also serve as mobile energy storage devices.

Nissan vehicles already on the road contain more than 10 GWh of combined storage potential. Nissan Energy Share capabilities connect the vehicles with society’s infrastructure to allow them to share their high-capacity battery power with a connected home or building.

They also allow the cars to link to the local energy grid to act as virtual power plants – supplying the vehicle’s power to the grid and contributing to efficient energy management. Thanks to these capabilities, customers will be able to share spare battery capacity without compromising their mobility.

Nissan Futures: Bringing electrification to Asia and Oceania



Industry leaders, media and government officials gathered in Singapore to discuss the future of mobility in the fast-growing Asia and Oceania region during Nissan Futures, Feb. 5 – 6.

Insights from a Nissan-commissioned Frost & Sullivan study revealed that 37 percent of prospective car buyers are open to buying an electric vehicle (EV) as their next car. The finding demonstrates the region’s strong potential to speed up the electrification of mobility.

Yutaka Sanada, Nissan’s Regional Senior Vice President & Head of Asia & Oceania also announced at Nissan Futures that the new Nissan LEAF will go on sale in seven markets – Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea and Thailand – during the next fiscal year.

The model is the icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility, our approach to moving people to a better world by changing how cars are powered, driven and integrated into society.

Nissan LEAF NISMO makes world debut



The Nissan LEAF NISMO combines for the first time, the excitement and advanced technologies of the world’s best-selling electric car with the sporty image and performance of the NISMO road car series.

The Nissan LEAF NISMO features a custom tuning computer for more responsive acceleration, custom tires and suspension for improved handling and ride comfort, and stylish exterior and interior design.

The new model will go on sale July 31 in Japan.

The model is based on the new Nissan LEAF, which debuted in October 2017. The new LEAF offers the exhilarating acceleration and environmental performance of a 100% electric powertrain, a dynamic design, and advanced technologies such as e-Pedal and the ProPILOT and ProPILOT Park autonomous driving features.
