Nissan’s 3.8-liter V6 24-valve twin-turbocharged engine – each handcrafted by its own takumi technician – remains the heart of the GT-R’s drivetrain. The 2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO features an exclusive turbocharger design – direct from the GT-R GT3 race car. A modified turbine engine shape with fewer blades, decreases rotational mass for improved acceleration and performance.

This optimizes the flow rate and enhances the acceleration response by 20%, without a loss of horsepower – creating the ultimate track and street vehicle.

Nissan’s global design team wants to connect with a worldwide community of artists, young and old, through a new #drawdrawdraw social project. Nissan is offering a new creative outlet for our fans to express their artistic side with a coloring book, videos, and encouraging fans to show their own creations!

Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s senior vice president for global design, kicks off this global collaboration with his team of designers that are also working from home during this unique time. From his home in Tokyo, Albaisa draws and colors in a Nissan 240Z with his two young sons. Check out his self-filmed video.

Nissan teaches robots to make replacement parts for cars

Nissan has developed a new way to use robots to make car parts out of sheet steel, a breakthrough that could make replacement parts for discontinued models more widely available for customers.

Nissan hopes to commercialize the proprietary technique, known as dual-sided dieless forming.

The technique involves two synchronized robots working from opposite sides of a steel sheet, using diamond-coated tools to gradually shape the steel.
